It has been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster for us over the past nine months as we anxiously awaited his arrival as a healthy baby boy; it was worth every moment! Seeing the absolute miracle of birth just solidifies how amazing God's love is for all of us and the power of His healing and restoration. As I hold Judah on my shoulder while I write this, I am reminded of the verse in 2 Corinthians 8-11 that held us together in the midst of the hardest of times when Hudson was very sick. It reads,
"We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.10 And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. 11 And you are helping us by praying for us."
It's amazing what relying on God produces... Even when faced with death, even when we felt we couldn't make it through... we placed our hope and our trust on the Lord, relied on Him, and oh how faithful He is!!!
This boy is so very special, it was only fitting that his name reflect how special he is. Here are the meanings of his first and middle names:
Judah - means "praise and thanks" - this truly captures our feelings toward Judah and toward God for blessing us with another baby. We give all the praise and glory to God, and are so very thankful! Every good and perfect gift comes from Him!
Hudson - in honor of his valiant Warrior big brother in heaven...
With such a strong name, we are quite certain this little guy is destined to be a World - Changer for Christ. His testimony begins before he was even born!
We will write more about the roller-coaster of emotions we've experienced through this journey, but for now, enjoy some photos of our very special baby boy - Judah Hudson Skiff
