Well - we've fallen behind on the blogging again, but what's new right? We've been keeping rather busy lately, so no time for blogging! We made a trip down south to the Sunshine State (Florida) to visit the magical land of Disney World. In a nutshell - it was amazing. I'm not sure but I think Mike might have even enjoyed it even more than Conner ;) We stayed at the Shades of Green Resort, which is for military only, and it was a very nice place. Especially considering the fact that it is on the Disney property, which means you get all the benefits of staying at a Disney resort (more park hours, etc...) We met up with some old friends from Ft. Lewis, who we keep in touch with regularly. Dale and Shawna Jones (Dale was actually Mike's first commander at Ft. Lewis). They have two daughters - Piper (who is 5 & who Conner adores) and Kinley (who is 1). It was a blast to hang out with them and enjoy Disney with friends! Here is a photo tour of our trip, enjoy!

Shamu!!!
Here is our view from our table at our special date - Dining with Shamu!
Dolphins!
More Dining with Shamu - it was a pretty cool private show!
Sharks!
Mommy & Conner in our room Shades of Green
Cinderella's Castle @ Magical Kingdom - and yes, it is truly magical!
We really enjoyed our breakfast reservation at the Crystal Palace. All of the characters from Winnie the Pooh come out to meet & greet. Oh yeah, the breakfast was phenomenal as well!
When in Frontierland, of course Donald where's a coon-skin cap! Conner was pretty excited to see one of his favorite characters - Goofy
Conner & Piper all dressed up for Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party. As you can see, Conner is the Knight in shining armor and Piper is the princess.
Dancing the the Disney show!
Conner was pretty excited that he got to meet Buzz Lightyear. He just watched Toy Story in 3D at the theater a few weeks ago with grandma, so he was looking forward to actually meeting Buzz.
Fireworks every night = amazing
This was Conner's position by the end of every day at Disney - he wore himself out with so much fun, every single day!
So at first Conner did not want to go on Splash Mountain because of this big hill... but after talking him into it the first time, he wanted to go on it over, and over, and over.... ;)

...But of all the rides at Disney World, by far the one he would ride all day every day if he could - was Big Thunder Mountain. I mean who wouldn't want to ride this all day long - it's a train rollercoaster! It's no surprise that Conner enjoyed this ride so much ;)
We even got to dine at Cinderella's Castle and meet six different princesses! Conner thought that was pretty cool too. His favorite princesses? Snow White and Jasmine (from Alladin).
Dessert at Cinderella's Castle - Fit for a King!
So we were walking around Frontierland when all of a sudden a parade started and these dancing ladies came and kidnapped Conner! He had a blast dancing with all of them!
The theme for Disney this year is "Celebrate You" They had a parade everyday along this theme and it really was quite the production
On an African Safari at Animal Kingdom - Elephant!
This is how we got Conner to cooperate with taking so many pictures - after every normal pose, we agreed to allow him to pose with his various weaponry. This seemed to satisfy him and he cooperated with as many pictures as we wanted to take ;)

Mike, Conner, Piper and Dale
What a fun trip - brought back LOTS of nostalgic memories for both of us and it was so cool to be able to pass down those memories to Conner as well and watch as he had so much fun. We're all ready to go back again - it is truly a magical place! Disney does not do anything halfway - everything was a big production and they are certainly professional entertainers. They are very good at what they do and we enjoyed the experience! Until next time Disney...
Oh my gosh I am DYING at Conner's costume...DYING! That is the cutest thing ever! Summer will seriously die too when I show her. What a fun way to spend Halloween! (or the season thereof) I'm glad you guys had such a great time!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! How cute is that last pic with Piper's hand on Conner's knee?!! So cute.
