We had an enjoyable, relaxing, yet busy 4-day Memorial weekend. We started the whole thing off on Saturday by welcoming Auntie Alice to our humble abode for the weekend. Conner was rather thrilled to see her as you can tell by the photo :)
We took a trip to Charleston on Sunday to
visit Folly Beach - Conner's favorite Atlantic Ocean beach. Being the southeastern spring season that it is, we battled rain/sun/rain/sun on the entire drive down to Charleston. Of course, as soon as we arrived to Folly Beach it began to rain rather hard, so we spent a whopping 5 minutes there playing in the sand, but it was worth every
minute to Conner!
After a delicious meal at our favorite Charleston establishment (California Dreamin' of course) we headed downtown to show Alice around. It was a bit difficult to drive by MUSC for the first time since leaving without Hudson (physically with us, that is). We took Alice downtown and spent some time down at the Battery where Conner ran wild. Mike and Conner decided to climb some cool looking oak trees that have probably been there since the civil war or before... As you can tell by the photo, the sun decided to come out
toward the end of the day as well...
We enjoyed a fun Memorial Day weekend and are gearing up for Mike to take on his first class of new Lieutenants and summer fun for Conner and me! The pool in our community opened up this weekend, so Conner is very excited to start swimming again. Happy Memorial Day to all and God bless those veteran's who fought and are fighting to keep our nation free!
