Army Birthday 5k & 10k

Army Birthday 5k & 10k

This past weekend we ran in the "Army Birthday" 5k & 10k on Fort Jackson.  It's always a little different doing an Army run.  You usually have units running in them & singing their cadiences the whole way.  When we did the run last year I found it so annoying but this year I guess I was just used to it.  Conner was quiet the whole run listening to them sing.  They usually sing about going to war, etc.  I could have done with out the choice words a few times.

We always run in Honor of our Warrior Hudson.  This is before the run in our '100s for Hudson' t-shirts. (click here to order yours today.  We now have them in mico fiber.)   I ran with the boys and did the 5k.  We finished in just over 23 minutes.  I was pretty happy with that time.  I am pushing about 60 lbs.  It was about 83 by the time we finished the race at 8:15 in the morning.
Mike about to cross the finish line.  He did the 10k
Conner had to climb the trees when we got to the finish line.
Don't mind the crazy hair or bright red face....its hot out! :) This boy is just so stinkin' cute & I think looks more like his daddy everyday.

We have had awful HOT weather the past weekend & it's continuing into this week.  As I write this it's about 102 outside. I'm hoping that the thunderstorms I hear might bring some rain and lower the temp a bit.  So the hot weather brought us down to our pool.  The water was luke warm and didn't help too much.

It was so hot Judah had to get in.

This picture is so funny to me, it's an action picture of Conner jumping in the water.

  1. Nice job Malynda! A few months ago I ran a 5K with NO stroller and my time was 33 minutes! You are a rockstar! :) You look amazing by the way. And how do you survive that heat?!?! Bah!
