What a Month!

It has been quite a busy month here for us at the Skiff Household. Hence, no blogging occured the entire month!?! Let's just say we were busy living life and doing the things blogs are written about ;)

June was quite a busy month for us. Mike got to work 2 Saturdays in June and enjoyed another Father's Day. In case you didn't hear, Mike also got a tattoo in June (for his Father's day present) to remember our Warrior.
The anchor is a symbol of hope, as evidenced in Hebrews 6:19 which says: " 18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and
trustworthy anchor for our souls." The heart (of course) symbolizes our Warrior's now perfect heart. We will see him again soon, and we have this hope as an anchor ;) Check out the pic!
And despite what anyone tells you - yes, it hurts to get a tattoo ;)

July came before we even knew it and we were knee deep in the Independence Day celebrations! Conner enjoyed his new slip and slide with the neighborhood girls (Neilah & Avery) as we kicked back in the cul-de-sac for the day. Of course, after dark we took part in the customary tradition of
fireworks with Conner! He was much less scared of the fireworks this year than he has been in the past and enjoyed not only the sparklers - but Roman Candles this year too!

To wrap up July, Malynda's parents
(A.K.A. Grama & Papa) came by for a visit for a week. We enjoyed their company and even enlisted Alvin's help with installing some ceiling fans and dimmers on our lights. So nice to have a handyman in the family since I (Mike) am severely lacking in that department at times ;) They also enjoyed some fun times at the zoo.
This of course was in addition to all the other things they did to keep busy while here such as: swimming at our community pool (like, everyday), and enjoying a day out at the Columbia Children's Museum.
Check out those pictures as well by visiting our Web Gallery or by clicking here. We also brought Grama and Papa to Mike's class social at the bowling alley where they got to meet 37 Army lieutenants!

Wow! As you can tell, we've had a busy month. No worries though, we plan to keep the blog refreshed at a much closer interval than we have over the past month ;)
